More INFORMATION and WARNINGS:

IMPORTANT TAX NOTICE AND REMINDER

Not quite ready to file your income tax return or your gift tax return?

Just got new information or still waiting for tax information?

Well don't be afraid, alarmed or nervous.

For some reason clients are afraid of filing an automatic extension with the IRS.

Many folks think they are sending in the return late or that it raises a red flag with the IRS.

Neither is true.

Although estimated taxes ordinarily are due by April 15th, (so make sure to pay what you think you owe), (this year it's April 18th) it is much better to file the extension and get the return correct than rushing to get it in.

The law specifically allows for the extension and it's automatic when properly requested.

You can get an automatic extension by filing form 4868.
Just call your accountant or, if you do your own taxes click here to get a copy.

So if you're missing some documentation, or you have received that last minute revised 1099 or K1, take a deep breath, stay cool, calm and collected, and remember you have another six months to file the return.

THEN WHAT?

After tax season, it's a great idea to review your estate planning and make sure that it's up to date.

ARE YOU READY TO UPGRADE FROM A WILL TO A TRUST?

Each month we set aside 4 spots for Existing Client Will to Trust Upgrade - these appointments for existing clients only are offered at our special pricing of $2,500 (for a single person OR a couple). We can only do so many each month and this is 40% off our regular pricing.

So if you've been thinking about going from a will to a trust: 1) to get your affairs more organized, 2) to minimize costs and fees, and/or to protect your wishes from challenge (challenging a trust is harder than challenging a will) then call 610-933-8069 and take one of these appointments.

For more on the difference between a will and a trust click here to get our 2016
Enhanced Estate Planning Report.

Be well and enjoy the weather.
