If you drilled into your father or grandfather's safety deposit box after he died and found gold coins worth $80 million dollars I'll bet that you'd expect a hefty inheritance and estate tax.

But, what this Pennsylvania family got when they took the coins to the mint to be valued was the total confiscation of their inheritance by the federal government.

Sound strange?
