Mr. Rau’s practice is focused in the areas of municipal and zoning law, real estate and land use, and school law. He also advises non-profit corporations, business improvement districts, and other organizations with unique and specialized business and regulatory needs.   His municipal background and expertise includes a special emphasis on cable television franchising and wireless tower regulation. Mr. Rau currently serves as both lead counsel and special counsel for school districts, townships, boroughs and zoning hearing boards throughout the region.

Mr. Rau has been named a “Top Lawyer” by Main Line Today magazine, and has also been recognized as a leading attorney by Suburban Life magazine. He has received the preeminent “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, recognizing superior legal ability as judged by his peers, and has been selected for inclusion in the Super Lawyers listing over multiple years.

Mr. Rau is a member of the firm’s executive committee. Prior to practicing law, he was a writer and producer for CNN.
